About

I’m Gayathri Ramakrishna.

A holistic, trauma-informed counsellor for adults navigating the body, identity, loss, trauma and change, with sexual and reproductive mental health support for women and gender-diverse adults.

I’m Gayathri — you can also call me Gaya. I’m a holistic, trauma-informed counsellor supporting adults through experiences involving the body, identity, loss, trauma and change. My sexual and reproductive mental health work is offered to women and gender-diverse adults.

My approach is shaped by professional training, lived experience of chronic pain and illness, and an understanding of how culture, relationships and life transitions influence the way we experience ourselves.

I created Transience as a space where your experience can be understood in its full complexity — not separated into isolated symptoms or parts of your life.

I see healing not as erasing scars, but as learning to carry them differently — finding meaning in what you’ve endured, and stepping forward with courage, authenticity, and choice.

What I bring

A holistic practice diagram: a single gender-neutral figure in continuous line-work sits at the centre of three concentric botanical rings labelled 'Integrative practice', 'Lived context' and 'Collaborative pace'.
The three rings represent the core approach brought to therapy.

The sphere is a visual map of how I work. At the centre is you — held by the pace, context and approach that shape our sessions.

  • • Holistic, trauma-informed and integrative practice
  • • Somatic, existential, narrative, compassion-focused and trauma-sensitive yoga approaches
  • • Cultural awareness of intersecting identities and lived contexts
  • • Space for spirituality, existential inquiry and meaning-making, when it matters to you
  • • A collaborative pace shaped by your needs and readiness

Therapy is a place to be met with warmth, curiosity and respect. You don’t have to arrive with the right words or a fixed goal.

We move at a pace that feels safe for you, paying attention to the stories your body, relationships and emotions hold.
