1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between you (“the client”) and Transience — Therapy for You (“the practitioner”) when engaging in counselling services.
By booking or attending sessions, you agree to these terms.

2. Nature of Services

Transience - Therapy with you provides professional counselling as a collaborative, reflective process that supports emotional wellbeing, self-understanding and meaning-making.
  • Therapy is not a crisis service or emergency support
  • Outcomes cannot be guaranteed
  • You are free to pause or end therapy at any time
If you require urgent support, you will be encouraged to contact appropriate crisis services.

3. Eligibility

  • Clients must be 18 years or older, unless consent is provided by a parent or legal guardian
  • Additional consent processes apply for children and adolescents

4. Appointments & Bookings

  • Sessions are offered online via secure video
  • Bookings are made via halaxy or by direct contact
  • A free 15-minute discovery call is available prior to commencing
Session lengths:
  • 50-minute standard sessions (individual counselling)
  • 75 - minute sessions (dyadic counselling)
  • 90-minute extended sessions (assessment, review, closure)

5. Fees & Payment

Fees are as follows:
  • 50-minute session: $135 AUD
  • 75-minute session: $165 AUD
  • Discovery call: free
  • Payment is required prior to session
  • Invoices may be issued where applicable
  • NDIS clients are charged in line with current NDIS Pricing Arrangements

6. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • More than 48 hours’ notice → no fee
  • 24–48 hours’ notice → 50% fee
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance → full fee
  • Rescheduling is subject to availability
  • Rescheduled sessions within the 48-hour window are treated in line with this policy
Exceptions may be considered in cases of emergency or unforeseen circumstances.

7. Confidentiality

All client information is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy. 
Information shared in sessions is confidential, except where disclosure is required:
  • To prevent serious risk of harm
  • Where there are legal or mandatory reporting obligations
  • If records are subpoenaed by a court
These limits will be explained clearly during the consent process.

8. Virtual Therapy

By engaging in online sessions, you acknowledge that:
  • You are responsible for accessing a private, safe space
  • Technology (internet, platform stability) may occasionally impact sessions
  • Reasonable steps are taken to ensure confidentiality and data security
While reasonable steps are taken to ensure privacy and reliability, Transience-Therapy with You is not responsible for disruptions caused by internet connectivity or third-party platforms.

9. Professional Standards

The practitioner is a PACFA-registered counsellor and adheres to:
  • PACFA Code of Ethics
  • Ongoing supervision and professional development

10. Feedback & Complaints

Feedback is welcomed as part of ethical and responsive practice.
  • You are encouraged to raise concerns directly where possible
  • If unresolved, you may lodge a complaint through PACFA
Raising a concern will not affect your access to care.

11. Scope & Limitations

  • Counselling at Transience-Therapy with You is not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, financial or legal advice
  • Counselling with Transience-Therapy with You is not suitable for crisis - please contact emergency services in case of an active crisis situation 
  • Counselling with Transience-Therapy with You is not suitable for an active domestic violence circumstance
  • You may be referred to other services where appropriate
  • The practitioner reserves the right to pause or discontinue services if it is not clinically appropriate to continue

12. Website Use

This website is for informational purposes only. While care is taken to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that all content is complete or current. Use of this website is at your own discretion.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, "the practitioner" is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of this website or services.

14. Intellectual Property

All website content is owned by Transience - Therapy with You and may not be reproduced without written permission.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia.

16. Changes to Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically. The most current version will be available on the website.
